Lanparte LA3D-VR01 gimbal for 360 cameras is now available

Image
Lanparte's LA3D-VR-01, a gimbal for 360 cameras ( previewed here ), the first consumer gimbal without counterweights is now available . Lanparte LA3D-VR-01 is a gimbal designed for 360 cameras with two lenses such as the Samsung Gear 360 and Nikon Keymission 360.  It has an unusual design that places all the motors within the stitch line, making them invisible to the 360 camera (except that the yaw motor and the handle will become visible if the handle is held horizontally). LA3D-VR-01 is also the first consumer 360 gimbal that does not use counterweights .  In theory, this should make it much lighter and easier to setup the gimbal, compared to other 360 gimbals that use counterweights. The LA3D-VR-01 has a modular design and appears to have parts that are interchangeable with some of the other components of Lanparte's LA3D system, possibly including  Lanparte's wearable wireless control kit , although I don't know for sure yet. Here is an interview and demo by Persona...

How to make the Guru 360 gimbal almost invisible: 360 video demo and tutorial

Image
The Guru 360 is the most affordable gimbal for 360 cameras.  It also has one of the smallest nadirs and in some cameras, it can even become almost invisible .  Here's a demo and tutorial. Stabilizing your video with a gimbal is one of the most effective ways to improve its quality and to enhance your viewers' experience.  Among gimbals designed for 360 cameras, the Guru 360 is the most affordable and it also has one of the smallest nadirs to date. The nadir is small enough that it is possible to make it almost invisible.  Here's a 360 video demo and a tutorial: As I mentioned in the video, the most visible parts of the Guru 360 in the nadir are the motor and the counterweights.  To make them disappear, you need to do two things: 1. Move the camera off the center of the gimbal and toward the pitch/roll motor.  The goal is to put the motor between the lenses. 2. To hide the counterweight that is on the opposite side of the pitch/roll motor, you need to split...

Kodak Orbit360 sample 360 video stabilized with Guru 360 gimbal; new rumored release date

Image
Here is a new sample 360 video from the Kodak Orbit360, this time stabilized with a Guru 360 gimbal , the first affordable 3-axis gimbal for 360 cameras. One of the most effective ways to improve your 360 video is with a 360 camera gimbal.  Not only does it make the video more comfortable to watch, but its stabilization effect is mesmerizing.  It's an easy way to elevate your 360 video over non-stabilized 360 videos. KouGa Ch , who has posted several sample 360 videos from the Kodak Orbit360, used a Guru 360 gimbal in his latest sample video: Meanwhile, an anonymous Kodak employee said that the Orbit360, released on May 25 in Japan, will be released around June 21 in the US.  I would take it with a grain of salt, though, since the Orbit's release date has been pushed back more than once, to put it mildly. The Orbit360 is not yet available for order.   But you can get the Guru 360 from GimbalGuru  ( reviewed here ).

Guru Air 360 price increase coming; get it at the lowest price!

Image
The Guru Air 360 will have a price increase.  But for now it is still available at the original price. The Guru Air is a gimbal for heavier 360 cameras such as the Z Cam S1 or S1 Pro .  It is based on the Moza Air gimbal for DSLRs , but modified for use with 360 cameras so that the motors will not obstruct a 360 camera's field of view. Compared to the smaller Guru 360 , the Guru Air has a much higher payload.  The Guru 360 is rated for 250 grams, while the Guru Air can accommodate up to 1.5 kg, six times heavier than the Guru 360's load.  In addition, the Guru Air features many more adjustments.  All of the arms can be adjusted (x-, y-, or z-axis), allowing you to precisely tune the Guru Air for your 360 camera. The Guru Air was introduced at $699, but according to GimbalGuru representatives, Moza priced it incorrectly and will soon be adjusting the price to $799 or more.  But for now, the Guru Air is still available at the original introductory price of $6...
