Giroptic iO is a 360 camera for the iPhone

Giroptic, makers of one of the first 360 cameras on the market, is launching a new 360 camera for the iPhone called the Giroptic iO.  It attaches to the iPhone's lightning port, allowing you to use the iPhone for live preview, to control the camera, and to share photos and videos to social media.

The Giroptic iO is the second 360 camera for the iPhone, similar in concept to the Insta360 Nano.  However, unlike the Nano which is designed for the iPhone 6 series and 7 series, the iO has a flexible mount that can work with a wider range of devices:
- iPhone 7 series
- iPhone 6 series
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 5s
- iPad Air, Air 2, or Pro
- iPad Mini 2, 3, or 4

Here are the key specs:
- two 195-degree fisheye lenses
- fully spherical field of view
- f/1.8 aperture
- Photo resolution: 3840 x 1920 (jpg)
- Video resolution: 1920 x 960 @ 30fps (mp4)
- 360 livestreaming capability

The iO is available for preorder directly from Giroptic.  The price is $250, for release in January 2017.  I will be visiting Giroptic's booth at CES 2017, and hopefully they'll have a sample available for demo.   Update: here is a video from my visit at Giroptic's booth at CES.
