Sample 360 photos from VRDL360 camera show excellent image quality



VRDL360 is a crowdfunded camera with 7K photo and 3K video resolution that looks like it's about to be fully funded.  It's still being offered at the shockingly low price of $99.   Meanwhile here are full resolution sample photos.
The photos were shared by the campaign organizers then I uploaded them to Roundme so we can see them in 360.  According to the organizers, the photos are completely unedited.

The resolution of the files are 5656 x 2828, lower than the 7K resolution they claimed.  I am guessing that the final photos will have higher resolution if they will stick to their claim of 7K.  In any case, the exposure and sharpness look excellent, and I couldn't find any chromatic aberration.  The colors look good in some of the photos, while in others the white balance seems to have a little too much magenta.  The stitching looks flawless in several of the photos.  The dynamic range looks very good although few of the photos pushed the camera beyond its limit.

One thing that is a little unusual about the VRDL360 is the price.   I thought $99 was only for the first 50 backers but it appears that's their price for the entire campaign to date (look at the list of backers).  This is a little strange and almost sounds too good to be true.  The truth is that if they can really produce a 360 camera with this quality, then even at the supposed MSRP of $219 it would be a bargain and I wouldn't mind buying it at full price.  For now I am wondering whether they will actually be able to produce this camera but I would be happier than anyone to proven wrong.

Feature-length VR movie about Jesus

Production stills.  Source: Autumn VR Many Christians have often wondered what it would have been like to live in Jesus' time.  Their wish will be virtually fulfilled.  This Christmas, a 90-minute VR movie about Jesus will be released by Enzo Sisti, the executive producer of Mel Gibson's 2004 film The Passion of the Christ.  Called Jesus VR - the Story of Christ, the movie was filmed entirely in 4k 360-degrees, at the same location in Italy that was used for the filming of the Passion. The movie will tell the entire gospel story, starting from Jesus' birth through his crucifixion and resurrection, and will include key moments such as his baptism at the Jordan river, the Wedding at Cana and the Sermon on the Mount.  "The viewers truly feel they are there with Jesus and his disciples," said director and producer David Hansen. TECHNIQUE: How to easily resize your 360 logo / watermark

It's easy to shrink or enlarge your logo / watermark for your 360 photo or video.  Here's how. I posted a tutorial for making a logo or watermark for 360 photos or videos here .  Let's say you want to now want to resize the logo for a particular photo, or perhaps create more sizes of your logo that you can later use.   To change the size of the logo, all you have to do is adjust its height, using Photoshop or other image editors: This works for logos of any shape, whether circular, square, or some other shape. The resulting logo becomes larger or smaller in proportion to how much you adjusted the height.  If you decreased the height by 50%, the length and width of the logo (or its diameter for a circular logo) will each shrink by 50%.  Note that a 50% reduction in height makes the logo 1/4th as large as it was before.  Vice-versa if you enlarge the height.
